The 140th NYVI Living History Organization is a nonprofit organization founded in Rochester, New York during 1982. We are a family oriented group of approximately one hundred individuals and families, centered in Western New York.

As living history interpreters of the Civil War era, we hope to educate people about the integral part soldiers and civilians played in the war effort. Our ultimate objective is to remind people of the sacrifices our ancestors made to make America what it is today.

Each July, we sponsor an event at the Genesee Country Museum. A restored 19th century village located in Mumford, New York.

In 2008, the 140th NY joined the Army of the Ohio with which it participates at events throughout Western New York and Eastern Ohio.
